Turkey Prices Rise, Supermarkets Give Discounts

In less than two weeks, most Americans (88%) will sit down for a turkey dinner to celebrate Thanksgiving. That makes a total of 46-million turkeys people will be eating. And since the price of turkeys has risen nearly 57%, from 2006, people are looking for ways to save on their birds. So some supermarkets are doing turkey giveaways and special promos, there were several stores doing this but there’s only one that’s available for us.

Weis Supermarkets – These store are offering a rewards program deal that gives you 10 points for every $50 spent. Once you have 50 points – which means you’ve spent $250 now through Thanksgiving – you cash in your points for a fresh turkey up to 20 pounds, a fresh or frozen turkey breast, or other options, including a boneless ham up to six pounds.

Just keep in mind that not all Thanksgiving grocery promos are actually good deals. If you’re unsure about an offer, use apps like Grocery Pal to find out.
