Country Stars Play Sold-Out Country Rising Benefit / Blake Shelton Goes No. 1 But Loses Bet

— Sunday’s (11/12) star-studded “Country Rising” benefit in Nashville was a huge success, raising more than $4 million dollars to support those affected by the September 2017 hurricanes as well as victims of the recent shooting in Las Vegas. The benefit was held at two separate Nashville venues and featured performances from the biggest stars in country music.

Lady Antebellum was just one of the many country stars that played Nashville’s sold-out Bridgestone Arena, and before the show, Hillary Scott shared:

Sam Hunt talked about being a part of the benefit in Nashville as well:

And Chris Janson talked about empathizing with the recent hurricane victims:

The full list of performing stars include George Strait, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba, Chris Stapleton and surprise guest Jon Pardi. Additionally, Garth Brooks sent in a special video of him performing “Callin’ Baton Rouge” from Spokane, Washington, where he donated proceeds from the night’s two shows to the cause.

Blake Shelton’s new album, Texoma Shore, has debuted atop the Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart this week, giving Blake his sixth career No. 1 country album. The album also landed at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, but it wasn’t enough to beat his fellow coach on The Voice, Adam Levine. While Shelton earned his 11th all-genre Top 10 with Texoma Shore, Levine edged him out with the No. 2 debut of Maroon 5’s new record, Red Pill Blues. That means Blake has lost the friendly wager he made Adam, and will now have to call his buddy by his preferred nickname — “The Greatest There Ever Was” — on the next live episode of The Voice.
